THHN Wire – Thermoplastic High-Heat-Resistant Nylon

THHN is a 600 V building wire with PVC insulation and a nylon (polyamide) jacket, commonly dual-rated as THHN/THWN-2. It’s used for feeders, branch circuits, and control wiring in conduit or raceway, with typical ratings up to 90 °C dry and 90 °C wet (when marked THWN-2).

Industry Standards & Compliance

  • UL 83 — Thermoplastic-Insulated Wires & Cables (THHN/THWN-2)
  • NEC Article 310 — Conductors for General Wiring
  • UL Listed; RoHS Compliant
THHN/THWN-2 building wire with PVC insulation and nylon jacket

Key Features of THHN Wire

  • 600 V building wire; typically dual-rated THHN/THWN-2.
  • Temperature: up to 90 °C dry and 90 °C wet (when marked THWN-2).
  • Copper conductor (solid or stranded, depending on gauge).
  • PVC insulation with nylon jacket for abrasion and pull resistance.
  • Installed in conduit or raceway; suitable for feeders, branch circuits, and control wiring.
  • Broad gauge and color availability for code identification.

Common Applications

  • Feeder and branch-circuit conductors
  • Conduit/raceway runs in commercial and industrial buildings
  • Control panels and machine wiring (dry locations)
  • General building wiring where nylon-jacketed PVC is specified

Ordering THHN Wire

Choose the required AWG size, color, and put-up. If dual-rated, confirm the exact THHN/THWN-2 markings and temperature ratings on the product page or datasheet.
